h100 Awards - Robert Luis and Paul Jones

With this year’s h100 Awards fast approaching, we thought we would give you the opportunity to get to know some of our nominees. 

Robert Luis and Paul Jones are nominees for our Music category and the founders of the label Tru thoughts which has established an international reputation for releasing a wide variety of high quality music in its nineteen plus years of running. Over the years, Tru Thoughts’ eclectic roster has included names such as Quantic, Alice Russell, The Bamboos, Rodney P, Hidden Orchestra, Riz MC, Zed Bias, Anchorsong, Moonchild and the Grammy-nominated Hot 8 Brass Band; with acts hailing from Australia, UK, USA, Canada, Brazil, Japan and Colombia. Tru Thoughts continues to run from Brighton with a sister office in L.A. together with its publishing company Full Thought Publishing, which has seen its music used in major advertising campaigns, movies and TV shows.

Recent prominent artist successes include the release of Moonchild’s critically acclaimed third album ‘Voyager’ as well as the band being named Jazz FM’s Soul Act Of The Year 2018; Hot 8 Brass Band’s sell out show at the Roundhouse last year; and Anchorsong’s ‘Ceremonial’ placing at #5 in BBC 6Music’s Album Of The Year 2016 list.
